The Audio Stuff - Truthful Audiophile Gear Review Articles

The Audio Stuff is an independent audiophile review site covering high-fidelity headphones, speakers, DACs, amplifiers, and sources. Every review is built on long listening, head-to-head comparison, and a single scoring scale - with zero sponsored takes.

How We Review

What sets The Audio Stuff apart is the method. Every piece of gear is compared head-to-head against a published reference list in its category and scored on a single 0–10 scale, so a 9.0 on a pair of headphones carries exactly the same weight as a 9.0 on a DAC. There are no first-impressions reviews and no demo-room verdicts - every unit spends a minimum of two weeks on the chain in real daily use, and typically four to eight weeks for flagship gear, tested across multiple sources and genres before a score is committed.

What We Cover

Coverage is organized into seven focused review hubs: headphones (open-back, closed-back, planar magnetic, dynamic, and IEMs), speakers (bookshelf, floorstanding, active and passive, studio monitors), DACs (desktop, portable, R-2R ladder, and delta-sigma), headphone amps, speaker amps, sources, and the accessories that connect them. Each hub is a focused archive scored on the same scale, so comparisons stay consistent across the whole catalogue.

Buying Guides & Tools

Alongside the reviews are buying guides built entirely from real verdicts - like the best open-back headphones and the best headphone amplifiers of the year - plus practical tools such as a speaker cable gauge calculator for planning runs and matching gear.

Editorial Independence

Independence is the core promise. The Audio Stuff never accepts payment to influence a verdict, loaner units are flagged in every review header, affiliate links are disclosed and never change a score, and if a brand tries to buy a result, that gets published too.

Reviews You Can Read or Watch

Every written review gets a companion video on the YouTube channel, filmed on the same chain, so you can dig into the full written breakdown or watch the gear in action.

Who It's For

Whether you're shopping for your first planar headphone, comparing R-2R and delta-sigma DACs, or hunting for a desktop amp that can actually drive a demanding load, The Audio Stuff delivers long-form, comparison-driven reviews written for listeners who plan to keep their gear for years.
